Do you have any single rooms for employee housing?
Single rooms are not available.  You will have a roommate when you arrive. Friends can apply to room together.  Couples can also live together based on the availability of open rooms.
 
What is the average age of employees?
The average age of employees is 24 and they come from all over the United States.
 
Can my spouse live in employee housing?
If the spouse is also an employee, he/she can live in employee housing.  We cannot offer housing for non-working spouses.  Children are not permitted to live in employee housing.
 
Do you have any management positions available?
We only have entry level positions available currently.  See the available positions page of this site for details. Should other positions become available, they will be posted on this page.
 
I was previously enlisted in the military, do you require any additional forms for employment?
If you were in the military, you need to submit your DD214 with your application.
 
I am in Europe already, can I be hired?
We can only accept applicants from the United States in accordance with the SOFA agreement with Germany.  Interviews must take place in the US, and you must enter Europe on a Government Ticket with Travel Orders to qualify for employment with us.
 
Do you cover my travel costs getting to the interview?
We do not cover any travel costs incurred getting to an interview. Our interviews take place throughout the US, so you should not have to travel too far for an interview.  
 
What do I need to bring if I am selected for employment?
Located in the application packet is the Departure Checklist which is a concise list of what you should consider bringing with you.  
 
How do I get to Edelweiss if selected?
If selected, we will provide transportation to and from Germany from the nearest airport to you.
 
What happens if I am fired or leave early?
You will be required to reimburse the flight that we paid for you to come to Germany, and you will have to purchase your own ticket back to the US.
 
What type of medical facilities are available?
As an employee you may utilize military facilities located nearby (30 minutes) free of charge. There are also German medical facilities in Garmisch.
 
What happens after I have been selected for employment?
Once you have been selected, and your background check is satisfactorily complete, you will be contacted by our Human Resources Office to arrange your flight to Germany and assist you in any further questions that you may have.  This contact is carried out exclusively by e-mail.  Please remember that Germany is 6 hours ahead of the East Coast, and 9 hours ahead of the West Coast; this is important if you wish to contact us by phone.
