Partnach Gorge Tour (Summer and Winter Seasons)
We'll drive to the 1936 Olympic Ski Stadium and walk 20 minutes up to the gorge. There we will begin the awe inspiring journey through the Partnach Gorge. It is a 20 minute mild flat hike through the gorge with a steep incline at the end to get out.   The decision will be made by each individual to either, walk up and over the gorge, or to turn around and walk back through. The group will all meet back up at the entrance of the gorge. After there may be time for a guesthouse stop and/or a ride on the summer rodelbahn (if weather permits).
INCLUDED: Transportation, gorge admission fee and guide
REQUIRED: Participants should wear seasonal clothing, weather appropriate gear, rain gear, comfortable walking shoes, plenty of water, snacks and euros for refreshments or rodelbahn fee.
LIMITS: Not recommended for kids under 5 and no strollers

Indoor Rock Climbing (Summer and Winter Seasons)
Introductory class to the sport of rock climbing. Learn basic rock climbing skills, rope work, knots, belay, rappel systems and safety procedures.  This class is held at the Hausberg Sport Lodge.
INCLUDED: Transportation, equipment and instructor
REQUIRED: Participants should wear loose fitting comfortable pants or shorts, bring snacks, drinks and sturdy hiking shoes or boots.
LIMITS: Min. age 6, Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, blue jeans not recommended

 
Eibsee

Eibsee Excursion (Summer Season)
A short bus ride to the foot of Germany's highest mountain brings us to Lake Eibsee. First we will enjoy a boat ride around the lake (weather permitting).   Then guests have the option to relax at the lakeside restaurant (prices in euros), walk around the lake (4.5 miles total), sunbathe on the rock beach or take out a paddle boat for 8 euros an hour. Make sure not to forget your camera.

REQUIRED: Participants should wear seasonal clothing, weather appropriate gear, and comfortable walking shoes, desired swimming/sunbathing attire. Bring euros for any personal expenses (paddle boats, food or souvenirs)

Garmisch-Partenkirchen City Walk (Summer Season)
First we drive across town to the oldest part of Partenkirchen, to Ludwig St.   There you will enjoy strolling down this street with its colorful murals and historic guesthouses.   The tour guide will provide you will information about that part of the city, which at one time was a part of the old roman road.   Then the guide will drive you over the river to Garmisch to peruse the farmers market, eat lunch in the Marienplatz and discover the important sites and buildings that makes up Garmisch past and present.   After this tour you will understand the history and culture of our quaint and beautiful alpine city.

Cake by the Lake (Summer Season)
We will walk from the hotel going on a short hike up to the Reisersee Lake, a site used in the 1936 Winter Olympic bobsled race. A guide will provide you information about the area. There is an opportunity for a lakeside stroll, great views with mountain reflections on the lake and a possible trek through the old bobsled course. Afterward we will stop at the Reisersee Café for refreshments.  
NOTE: Cake not included.
REQUIRED: Participants should wear seasonal clothing, weather appropriate gear, and comfortable walking shoes. Bring Euros for refreshments at the Reisersee Restaurant.

Farchant Nature Family Walk (Summer Season)
A short bus ride to Farchant (neighbor village of Garmisch) will take us to a beautiful nature preserve. An easy walk with frequent stops for nature trivia questions along the trail to the Kuhflucht falls. Enjoy a soothing footbath on the way back. Approx. 2 hrs of easy walking with one steep incline at the end to reach the falls.
NOTE: Great for children and families

Munich Zoo (Summer Season)
A great trip for the whole family. We head to Munich for a day at the world famous zoo.   It is one of the largest in Germany.   There are multiple vendors around the zoo for refreshments and merchandise, prices are in euros.   Wagons are available for around €5.00 to pull your child or things around for the day.  
INCLUDED: Transportation and zoo admission fee
REQUIRED: Participants should wear seasonal clothing, weather appropriate gear and comfortable walking shoes.   Bring lunches, snacks, and drinks. Box lunches are available from Market Station (order by 1900 the night before) Bring euros for any extra personal expenses (food, merchandise, wagons).  

   

   

Just for Kids (Summer Season)
Our Just for Kids staff knows how to create the perfect mix of fun, adventure and learning for kids. Our instructors have an enthusiasm for activities, culture and environment that will spread to your kids and give them the same excitement. Activities range for ice skating, hiking, mini golf, summer slide, the Munich Zoo, a reptile house, Arts and Crafts, boat ride, castle cookie hunt and more.   Sign up in Alpine Adventures.

Kids Night Out
(Summer and Winter Season)
Let us entertain your kids for the evening.   After Dinner (included in the program) our instructors will take the kids outside for some fresh air fun (weather permitting) and then over to our Just for Kids center with multiple activities and fun for all.

All tours need a minimum of 5 paying guests for the tour to run. Please check with Alpine Adventures upon arrival for any other leisure activities added to the weekly Edelpost schedule.

Note: All children 4 and under must pay for a seat, there will be no children sitting on laps for any of our leisure activities, due to the transportation used.

All participants must be present at the departure/start time. If you are not present at the start time, your spots can/will be given away to any people on the waitlist. Please contact Alpine Adventures in the event that you will be running late due to extreme circumstances.

 

Packing List :
• Suitable hiking pants and shorts, please no jeans!
• Waterproof jacket and pants (Gore-Tex or similiar)
• Rain cover for pack and umbrella
• Sunglasses and Sun Hat
• Water bottle, minimum 1 liter
• Sunscreen and lip balm w/ sunscreen, the sun is very strong at altitude
• Sturdy hiking boots or hiking shoes
• Extra t-shirt (polypropylene or other moisture wicking material recommended)
• Euro money for food and drink along the way
