Three Country Driving Tour (Summer Tour)

Ötzi the Iceman, Bolzano Italy NEW SUMMER TOUR
Located in the foothills of the Italian Dolomites, rests the famous remains of the 5,300 year old Iceman at the South Tyrol Museum of Archeology. Ötzi is not the only reason to visit this charming multicultural city which is the southern gateway to the South Tyrol. The compact city centre features many charming shops and cafes where one can sample both Italian and Austrian specialties. Sightseers are well rewarded with beautiful mountain vistas and the sight of postcard castles which evoke images of a time gone by.

Eagle's Nest, Berchtesgaden Tour (Summer Tour)
Learn about the history and local folklore about the area and villages you pass along the way. Visit the Eagle’s Nest, a project of Martin Boorman’s given to Adolf Hitler. In inclement weather, the tour will alternatively go to either the Documentation Center with historical bunkers and information or the famous Berchtesgaden Salt Mines.

Innsbruck City & Swarovski Crystal World
NEW SUMMER TOUR
Enjoy the beautiful Alpine scenery as your guide shares history and local folklore. In the morning you will visit Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens, Austria. Take time to explore the eclectic and fascinating multimedia gallery that has become one of Tirol's most popular attractions. Shop and enjoy works of art from Salvador Dali, Andre Heller and Andy Warhol. Next you will go to the city center of Innsbruck, the Hapsburgs capitol of Tirol and home of the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics, for sightseeing with your tour guide. Dachau Concentration Camp
Visit the historic Dachau concentration camp of WWII. Your tour guide will inform you of interesting sights and the history of the concentration camp along the way. Once at the camp, view an english video presentation and explore the museum on your own. This tour is not recommended for children under 12. No children under the age of 12 are able to view the movie shown due to graphic material. |

Bavarian Brotzeit Tour
We will be making our first stop to the “Schaukaserei” in the beautiful Ammergauer Alps. Here at the cheese factory we will discover how the local farmers make cheese and other delicious diary products. We will view a short film about cheese making, receive a guided tour of the facility and have a chance to try an assortment of goodies that create a traditional Bavarian meal, "Brotzeit teller”. We will walk to the Ettal Monastery which is close to the cheese factory. After viewing the Basilica, you will have the opportunity to purchase some of the Monks’ (home made) beers and liqueurs. |

Linderhof Palace
In the late 1800’s, "Mad King" Ludwig II created this country estate, a French Rococo palace where the gardens are sometimes considered more elaborate than the two-story palace. You will also visit the famous grotto, which is one of a kind. This tour also stops in Oberammergau, you’ll have time to shop at the famous wood carving shops while exploring the many frescos the town has to offer, such as the world renown Passion Play Theatre. |

Munich City
Munich is the capital of Bavaria and bursts with history. You will be guided on the walking portion of the tour to the Rathaus (town hall), the Glockenspiel (play clock) in time to hear the chiming and watch the dancers and jousting knights, and then over to the HofBrau Haus, one of the city's oldest breweries. You guide will also take you to the Residenez where the can view the crown jewels of the royalties of Munich past. After lunch, visit the open-air fruit and vegetable market or you may explore further on your own. |

Lowenbrau Brewery Tour (winter tour)
We will be visiting one the most famous breweries of Munich. We will first view a film of the brewery in English. After that, a guide will give us the grand tour of the factory. We will then go to the brewery’s special beer tasting room with great views of the Munich skyline. We will be treated to a Bavarian snack and samplings of their delicious products.

Nymphenburg Palace Tour (winter tour)
We will take you to the extraordinary home of the royal Bavarian family, the Whittlesbach Dynasty. This is also the birth place of the Fairy Tale King, King Ludwig II. We will have an opportunity to walk through several rooms and ballrooms that this famous family once occupied. After visiting to the palace we will have a chance for shopping at the gift shop and then lunch in the surrounding area. |

Werdenfels Countryside Tour (winter tour)
Journey through the scenic countryside to our first stop of Mittenwald. This town is famous for its violin makers and lovely painted houses. After that, we will drive by the beautiful Walchen Lake and the Kochel Lake, for incredibly scenic Alpine views. The next stop will be the Benediktbeuern Monastery, dating back to th17th century. We will first visit the church before having lunch at the Monastery restaurant. Then we drive to the town of Bad Tolz which claims to be one of the "most Bavarian” town in the region. |

Nightime Partnach Gorge (December - March)
Visit a Garmisch natural wonder how few ever see it...at night! First stop is at the 1936 Olympic Ski Jump Stadium. From there it will be a twenty minute walk to the entrance of the Partnach Gorge. One fire torch will be provided for each family, at the entrance of the gorge. The torches will light the way through the gorge with the beautiful ice formations within. After the group has made it through the gorge, there will be an opportunity to visit an authentic guesthouse to warm up with a possible hot drink or an apfelstrudel.

Tour Reservation Policy
To make a reservation for a tour, please contact our Vacation Planning Office at the numbers listed on the bottom of the page. It is recommended that you reserve prior to arrival.
Please contact the Alpine Adventures upon arrival for reconfirmation and any changes that may have taken place. All tour charges will be put on your room, unless otherwise stated by the guest.
Note: By being on the waitlist you (the guest) are responsible to check your status in Alpine Adventures. If spots open up anytime before the departure time, you will automatically be moved over without being informed. By stating you (the guest) want to be on the waitlist, you are confirming you want any open availability. If you do not check with Alpine Adventures and you are moved over to a confirmed list, you will be charged for those spaces, without being informed.
Horse and carriage is final sale and cannot be cancelled once booked.
All reservations will be charged at 1200 noon the day before the tour.
No refunds for tours canceled after 1200 noon the day before the tour.
A minimum of 15 paid guests by 16:00 the day before all the morning departure tours is required or the tour will be canceled at that time. A minimum of 15 paid guests 0900 hours the day of the tour for all evening or afternoon activities.
The departure time is precise, please meet in the lobby 10 minutes before departure time and make your way to the buses in the circle drive. You must be present at departure time or your spots will be given away to the waitlist.
All tours require a minimum of 15 paying guests for the tour to run.
The return time is approximate due to conditions beyond our control.
For Horse & Carriage Rides, all children must pay. Infants under 1yr are free on lap. Reservations are final and non-refundable. For all other tours, youth are ages 5-14. Children 4 & under are free on lap. Non-Edelweiss Resorts guests can only reserve seats the day prior on a space available basis.
NOTE: Three Country Tour, Berchtesgaden, and Italy tours - all children 4 & under pay youth prices due to international travel rules that each person is required to have a seat. No children sitting on laps are allowed.
No children under 8 for the nighttime Partnach Gorge Tour.
* A passport is required for any tour leaving Germany. (3 Country Driving Tour, Neuschwanstein, Innsbruck, Bolzano, and Berchtesgaden).
