Hours of Operation

Edward Cloonan III is a distinguished culinary professional with over two decades of experience leading premier kitchens around the world. Recently appointed as the Executive Chef at Edelweiss Lodge and Resort in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, Chef Ed returns to the very place where his overseas career began. Starting as a line cook at Edelweiss, he quickly advanced to Sous Chef, and his return as Executive Chef marks a full-circle moment in his impressive career.

Chef Ed’s culinary expertise was honed at the renowned Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Cambridge, MA, where he earned an Associate's Degree. The rigorous training he received there laid the foundation for his innovative approach to cooking, blending classical techniques with contemporary flair.

Before rejoining Edelweiss, Chef Ed gained extensive international experience, most notably in Okinawa, Japan, where he spent nearly five years as an Executive Chef. His leadership and strategic vision have consistently driven culinary excellence and operational success.

Edward also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Human Resources from the University of Maryland Global Campus and is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Business. His commitment to continuous learning complements his culinary skills, allowing him to manage operations with both creativity and efficiency.

Chef Ed is thrilled to bring his extensive experience and culinary vision back to Edelweiss Lodge and Resort, where his journey first began. He looks forward to creating exceptional dining experiences for guests from around the world in this exciting new chapter of his career.
